Quality Assured Who are we?Amber Valley Physiotherapy Clinic was set up in 2006 by Susan Buckley. Susan Buckley Bsc (Hons) MCSP — Senior Physiotherapist Susan qualified from the University of Salford in 2000 with a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy. Susan spent 3 years gaining a broad range of experience in the NHS, including treating orthopaedic, respiratory, surgical and neurological conditions, before specialising in the assessment and treatment of musculo-skeletal disorders. Susan worked at Derbyshire Sports Injuries Clinic for 4 years and is experienced in working with sports teams and athletes at the highest levels. In 2002 she was selected to provide physiotherapy to elite international athletes at the Commonwealth Games in Manchester. She worked as physiotherapist for Nottingham Forest Football Academy for 5 years and also worked for Salford Reds Rugby League Club. Susan has a particular interest in the treatment of sports injuries and rehabilitation following orthopaedic surgery. Lynette Delport BSc Physiotherapy, MCSP Lynette obtained a BSc degree in Physiotherapy from the University of the Free State, South Africa, in 2005. Following her studies she completed a year of compulsory community service as part of a multi-disciplinary team at a clinic in an informal settlement near Pretoria, South Africa. She then gained more experience working as a locum physiotherapist at various private practices in and around Pretoria treating musculoskeletal, neurology and respiratory conditions. In April 2007 she relocated to the UK, working mostly in hospitals where she gained more experience in orthopaedic and medical conditions. Lynette started to specialise in musculoskeletal conditions when she moved to Ireland to work in a private sport injury clinic in 2008. She returned to the UK in June 2009 and has since worked as a locum at several private clinics as well as being a station physiotherapist for eleven months at the MoD. She joined Amber Valley Physiotherapy Clinic in September 2010. In her spare time she loves cooking and enjoying the outdoors. Emma Keightley BSc Physiotherapy, MCSP Emma qualified with a BSc Honours degree in Physiotherapy from Sheffield Hallam University in 2003. She has a specialist interest in musculo skeletal disorders and joined the team at Amber Valley Physiotherapy Clinic in 2008. She is qualified in acupuncture. As well as working at our clinic she has been working as a physio with the ECB and the English Schools Cricket Association in 2010. |
